Heirs: Closing Accounts for Deceased Clients
If a Stockbit customer passes away, please rest assured that their stocks and funds will remain secure with Stockbit and cannot be accessed by unauthorized parties. However, we recommend that the RDN of a deceased customer be closed if it is no longer being used.
The deceased customer’s stock account can be closed by their legal heirs. What documents are required to claim the stocks of a deceased Stockbit Sekuritas customer?
- The legal heir must provide the following documents as proof of their inheritance rights:
- Death Certificate of the Account Holder issued by the Civil Registry (Dukcapil)
- Certificate of Inheritance Rights from the Village Office / Notary
- Power of Attorney and Statement of Heirs for the customer of PT Stockbit Sekuritas Digital (signed on a Rp10,000 stamp duty) or a Power of Attorney from a Notary
- ID card (KTP) of the account holder
- ID cards (KTP) of all heirs
- Family Card (KK) of the account holder
- Family Cards (KK) of all heirs
- Account Closure Form
- Stock Transfer Form (if there is a stock portfolio)
- The legal heir must have a Stockbit Sekuritas Digital trading account to receive the transferred funds and/or stocks. For more information on how to register for a Stockbit trading account, please visit How to Register for a Stockbit Trading Account.
If the customer has a stock portfolio, the legal heir may transfer the ownership of the stocks by submitting the Stock Transfer Form, Account Closure Form, and the required supporting documents mentioned above.
